Default Brake Pad Recomendations? Sensor came on today, and minitex RedBoxes suck.

I'm looking at:
Hawk PBS
Axxis Metal Master

Basically, I'm looking for street pads, but I _AM_ heavy on the brakes... so performance will always win out over "low dust" for me. But of course I don't really ENJOY cleaning my wheels either.

Default Ferodo ds2500 in the front and AXXIS Ultimates in the rear

so far best setup I have had on my car. Haven't noticed much brake dust, in fact, rims are really clean right now. Also noticed the Ferodo do very well when cold and do even better hot, good brake pads for those who are heavy on the brakes, which I am.

Default Why the lower friction Axxis pads in the rear?

Other than that, we seem to have Common Priorities :-)

Default From Stoptech, I called them and they had them in stock. I opt

to pick them up but they would have delivered. Call them, they don't have Ferodo on their website but they do have them in stock.

Clicky

Default I just installed the Carbotechs....

Got the Bobcat version, so far they are very good and i am pleased with them. As good bite as stock if not a bit better IMO, grip very well without much fade and produce less dust as of lately. They are also recommended for light track/Auto-x use, although at 20F out it wont be Auto-x time for a few more months so I can't comment on that yet.

Default Strange, ...

Perhaps the piston sizes in your particular Stoptech calipers are on the small side, and Stoptech gets brake bias back in the ballpark with high cf pads in the front and lower cf pads in the rear.

Compared to my setup, this is a huge advantage on track. I like the performance of very high friction pads like the Ferodo 3000 Plus or the Cobalt Vspec, but I can't get these compounds for our rear calipers (S4 and S8 rears calipers are identical). About the best I can do is Ferodo 3000 front and rear, you could run Ferodo 3000 Plus front and Ferodo 3000 rear.
