Default Brake pad wear light help?

A weird thing happened this morning; my brake wear indicator lit up, but then went away after I restarted the car after the mandatory coffee shop stop. Of what I understand once it lights up it will only go away with new pads, but...

Any suggestions will be appreciated
Thanks
N

The pad could be worn just to the point where it's just started to uncover the wire.

Default No, I don't know how much is left when the sensors kick on. You may not need to take off the wheel,

just look through the spokes with a flashlight.

Good point, hadn't thought about that, it's been a while since I've had stock brakes.
