Brett, regarding Pearl White S4...
I have seen your post, under your name, that you have a Pearl White S4?? I asked my dealer about it before, and they said NO WAY?? Is it a special order?? If yes, how long would it take from build to deliver?? Thnx in advance...

Special Order? Yes. Build to deliver? Don't know.
The Pearl White is supposedly available on any Audi as a special order for $1,200. There are other Pearl White S4's on this board too.
Why I don't know build to deliver time (Short version of long story).
In late October I ordered a Black/Onyx S4 with expected delivery of late February to early March. Sometime in January (?) I started reading this forum. In early February someone posted that a different nearby dealership had a Pearl White/Onyx S4 available. Knowing it was a special order and I really wanted an S4 I called the dealership. I learned that it is available and has the same options that I had ordered. I explained my situation and asked if I could stop by that night to look at it. The salesman even put my name on it (just in case). I looked at it and decided I liked the Pearl White. Since I had to finalize financing I had to wait a week for delivery (longest week I've had in a long time).
I had to cancel my order at other dealership (which is the other part of the story). I've also learned that the Black/Onyx S4 that I had ordered, did not come in until early April. I would not have been happy.
BTW, I might be selling my '00 S4 soon. I've put a deposit down for a '01 S4 Avant. Still haven't decided what I want to do, but the deposit is refundable.<p>Brett Gissel

I thought about a perl white...
I was told that it couldn't be ordered -- the dealers just occasionally got one.
They had one there, but in hind sight I'm definitely more of a black car guy than a white car guy.

Some info
Pearl White S4s can be ordered...but they are only built in very low quantities...so you may have to wait extra months to get them. The extra fee is, I think, $1,200. If your dealer says they can't do it...they may not know what they are talking about...ask them to check with their Audi of America Area Rep for Sales.<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=3821"><br><br>

My Pearl White S4 experience
I got a pearl white S4 back in October. I believe I had the first one on this board.
I'd ordered a silver S4 from one dealer in June. Audi had discontinued pearl white in the A4 the previous year. Shortly after my order, rumors started that pearl white would be available after all on the S4. I spoke to my dealer. He said I could change my order to pearl white if that was true, no problem. BUT he'd have to check if it was really available.
Then, he says his area rep says no way, it doesn't exist. I called AoA. They said yes, and gave me order codes. Dealer still said no way. Dealer's area rep still said no way. They kept saying that until the day I drove up in my new pearl white S4 (from another dealer, obviously) and cancelled my order!
I found the car elsewhere. It was on that dealer's list of cars that would arrive soon. They had not ordered it - it was an "extra allocation" that their rep had ordered.
Apparently, at least at first the dealers themselves could NOT order pearl white in S4 - only their regional reps could. And some of their regional reps appear not to have been aware of that fact. From what I've read on the board, however, the dealers themselves now can make the order.
AoA told me that very limited quantities of pearl white cars were available in every Audi model except the TT, because the TT is made in a different factory. A special line existed in the paint shop for the pearl white cars, and they took an extra week to produce.
And it's worth it!

Here's my take on it
I came across the Pearl White color when I was checking out the Kelley Blue Book website. It said that it was special order only, but didn't list an extra cost on their site. I inquired at various SF Bay Area dealerships, as well as Sacramento and Southern Ca. area dealers and I was surprised to find out how many were not aware of that color being a special order option.
I went to Diablo Audi in Concord, who was aware of the color and put an order down last November. We specifically ordered the car how we wanted it and 6 months later, (Yes it was a very LONG wait) our S4 is sitting in our garage. The Pearl White is definately a $1200 option, but seeing it in person, is an absolutely gorgous color. Not to take anything away from the Imolas, Nogaros and Silvers, which are also beautiful but plentiful as far as S4's go, it's nice to think it's a color that you won't see on an S4 very often.
If you do see one on a dealership lot, chances are it's a special order that someone backed out of. Hopefully soon, I can get some pictures posted of mine.
