Default The pilot sport a/s tires are nice

good grip in dry/wet conditions and quiet. However, they are not all that good in the snow.

Default The one's I have work pretty well for an all-season (WR rated Pzero-Nero M+S).

I do a fair amount of skiing and they are fine for PNW snow conditions.

The Pzero Nero M+S is basically a summer tire design with reasonable snow traction and good wear.

Default Bzzt. False. It's just like the pyramid in Project Management.

You have cost, scope, and time...

If you want it quicker with more features, you're gonna pay. If you want it on time with low cost, it's going to be simple.

This is the same situation.

There isn't a tire that does even three of the things you listed above the "best". The most you can have is two. That's why I would choose the best dry/wet for 3 seasons and the best snow for the one.

Default Right, you can't have it all. But you've dismissed the All Season tires

before finding out anything about what this guy really needs. High performance and long lasting don't go together. Neither does great dry performance and great wet performance. Snow is a completely new set of requirements.

If he's looking for a set of tires that will have a long tread life, perform well in dry and wet conditions, and be able to get him home through a light dusting of snow, a decent set of all season tires will work. If he wants to spend 2X as much, your suggestion of summer/winter specific tires is appropriate, but I didn't get the impression he was looking to buy two sets of tires.

Good point. We'll let him elaborate if needed.
