Default BT: carbon fiber hood...

if im going to have my hood sprayed... would it best just to buy a carbon fiber hood and have it sprayed??? is there a significant weight savings? which is the one with the best fitment? is it alright to for street use to not have hood pins?

if i do go cf hood, im leaning towards the awe hood... nonvented... 12lbs, versus 45lb hood and supposedly stock hardware is usable along with stock fitment etc...

anyone here have/had this hood? any reviews? STFA~!?

Default yes i do not want any fiberglass cores or anything like that...

i havent heard of anything by sdr... im going to look into it now...

ive never cared for the look of cf, i just want the benefits of it... so most likely i will paint it body colour... so im not concerned with gloss coat or longevity of the stock finish... basically structural integrity, and fitment... are my main concerns. lastly i do not want the item popping off at highway speeds...

Default If you want to go no hood pins on the street the only one designed to do this is....

the sdr hood.

Default I wouldn't say that totally but......

The FI hood is very nice but theoretically you should pin it. The SDR hood is vented and has a plate above the latch so that it isn't required that it be pinned. I think this is your only option for a hood designed to not be pinned in cf. If you wanted to pin the hood you have other options but otherwise I think sdr might be right for you.
