Bubble sidewall tire questions

I just purchased Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires for my S4 (225/45/ZR-17). My Pirelli P6000s had a bubble in the outside wall of one of the tires (3,100 miles). I have read that Michelin has a better record than Pirelli. However, I am still concerned, as I understood this is a general problem for 17 inch low profile tires. A couple questions:
1. Tire Pressure - Do higher tire pressures help protect against bubbles? The tire would give less when hitting a bump or hole, but the shock would be more.
2. Do bubbles normally form on the outside wall or do I need to inspect the inside walls as well?
Thanks for any comments.

MY dad had a '97 Porsche Turbo with PZeroes on it and the front passenger sidewall bubbled. We took it to the porsche dealer, they said it was a factory defect in the tire, and they replaced it under warantee. the bubble ended up looking like someone was pushing a golf ball out the sidewall from the inside of the tire. The car had the factory recomended tire pressure's in it.
