Default Burning smell coming from the engine bay

Hi,

This has probably been discussed in the forums but I was wondering if anyone else had the problem of a burning smell coming from the engine bay? It was the first time it happened, and also the first time i launched this hard (I was practicing my launches from a standstill). I got home and opened the hood and could smell a burning smell (not that heavy), more prevalent around the fan but that could be because the fan was circulating the smell and the area around it more concentrated. It was my second hard launch of the night and the first and second occurred in probably a 3 minute span of eachother. I'm kind of scared to do it again, and won't probably for a while or atleast i know what it is. Does anyone have any opinion on the matter?

Thanks

Yeh, these can smell a little when you run them hard and get those turbos red-hot. The clutch can stink like a **** too. Unless you've got smoke coming from under the hood I wouldn't worry about it.

If it smells like hot metal/what it smells like when you weld something than it is most likely the clutch. If not, it could be one of a thousand other things.

burning synthetic oil smells weird too, sometimes it leaks out of the valve cover gaskets on the corners, and will dribble down onto the exhaust manifolds and cause smoke and and a burning smell. I just replaced my drivers side valve cover gasket.
