Default to buy out lease or not to buy out lease...

I absolutely love this car and i really hate to give it back. My buy out from the dealer is $22,220, and right now i have 31,500 miles. If i dont buy it out what should i replace it with?

Default Seems like a pretty good buy-out price. If you replace it, will you

a) just use the 22,220 for the new car or
b) purchase / lease a vehicle at appromixately the same price point as the S4?

Default That car is worth $5K more.

If you've got some time left on the lease...and you don't want to buy it...put it up for sale. You can sell the car to another party, and pocket the $5K.

Default buy it, I just sent in the check this morning

There really isn't anything else out there that floats my boat, so my reasoning was since I love the car so much I might as well keep having fun with it until something comes along that I really want to buy (I'm keeping my eye out for a new Legacy Spec B wagon in a year or two). The car is only 2.5 years old and I actually like it now more than when I bought it, it's more stealth now that there are all these new 'bling' cars out on the road (that is until I hit the accelerator

Default Wow - that is a very low buyout - I guess it wasnt expected that

the B5 S4 would hold their values so well

Default Depends...

I know that the buyout is low, but what are you going to do with the car? Daily driver? No, get a new one that is going to keep its warranty or buy it out to sell it once warranty expires. Toy car, track car, mod car, etc... keep it.

If the car is a toy - keep it, if it an utility keep it only while you have a warranty and can make $ by selling it later.

I read that (speculative until official) that a Legacy STi with 350hp could be in the near future.

Default At that buy-out, I would consider purchasing it and reselling for profit. It is a good deal for a

lightly used car, so I would be very tempted. Perhaps you could work a deal with your local dealer to turn it in and buy it off them for a little less than the buy-out cost- they love it when they have money in hand as make more profit that way: no storage, insurance or advertising fees for them to worry about.
