Well, 3 days ago I cancelled my RS4 contract. A test drive with a TVR Griffith 500 made it clear to me that I REALLY wanted that car, despite the obvious reliability problems. I always thought that all that "driver's car" stuff was just hype, but after having driven the TVR I finally know what driver involvement means. I will wait getting the car until spring and then use it as a weekend driver while keeping the S4 Avant.
There are a couple of other reasons for not getting the RS4 like the fact that I would have had to chip it to be faster than my current S4, the f**cked up Audi customer service and the fact that the A4 platform is on the end of its lifecycle.
I still believe that the RS4 is a beautiful and great looking car, I just think that personally for me I have found a better solution.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tvr.ik.com/pub/customersites/WEBB-4H8N8F.nsf/pub/customersites/WEBB-4H8N8F.nsf/0/60B3533E4242DCF58025689D004394FF?OpenDocument">TVR Griffith 500</a></li></ul>

It's not faster, but AS fast as the RS4. I have tried head to head with my S4 and a RS4 from my tuner that is still unchipped at the moment.
My S4 has only a chip (314 hp, 406 lbs-ft.)but that is enough to hold on to the RS4 until about 85 mph. The reason for this is the massivly higher torque of the chipped S4. I had heard of several races between chipped S4's and RS4's that were dead heats, but now I finally had the chance to test it myself.

That thing is insane, but you will need more than a lottery win to survive that :-)
Dave, I'm near London at the moment and I saw a great car today: The 3-wheeled Mr. Bean mobile! I couldn't believe to see that these things are still out there. No RS4's though and only one S4 compared to many M3's and M5's. I hope I can get a hold of a copy of EVO tonight at the airport before flying home.
