anyone know what the difference in clearance is? the stoptech st40's are definitely wider but by how much?
anyone know what the gap(caliper<->spoke) measurement between the 2 are?

Clearance between the ST40caliper and the spokes on the 17" Avus wheels is pretty tight but raises no issues.
However, the clearance between the top of the caliper and the rim (inner diameter) of the stock wheel is so tight that wheel balancing weights (the tape kind) won't fit. The weights have to be placed near the inboard edge of the rim, away from the caliper. This prevents proper tire-balancing.
My tire tech told me he could only give me a "static" balance, which was not as good as a "dynamic" balance.
