Can a CEL dissapear by itself? Has this happened to anyone?

Default Can a CEL dissapear by itself? Has this happened to anyone?

I am just curious cause I don't see it anymore. It has been on for a week and this afternoon it is no longer there.
Now I wonder if the faults are still stored.

There are some that clear automatically after a time and some that don't

Default Yup, had one do the same...

was on for about three days, then gf came back in town, and been gone since. Of course, I took my VAG-Com off my laptop to reformat, so I haven't been able to check for DTC, but I'd imagine they're stored.

mine's done this twice in last 2 weeks

Default I had one come on, go off about six hours/40 miles later

Only fault codes were for cylinder misfires.
