Default in a demolition derby, yes! :)

If you're talking drag race, the STI is a bit faster I think. On a road course, the STI is a LOT faster. On a rally course, the STI is a WHOLE LOT faster.

(but it's still a subie!)

Default I have an S4 and I just added an STi to my stable.

I'm still in the break-in period but I feel confident in saying, just from my experience at partial throttle below 4000 RPM, an S4 is going to need some bit of work (more than just a chip) to match an STi. My S4 is a strong one but it feels almost sluggish next to the STi. And if there's handling or braking involved, forget it. The S4 doesn't have a chance. I am VERY impressed with the STi. When I get back from vacation and get some more miles on the STi, I plan on writing a comparo.

Default I posted yesterday that on same dyno in AZ STi pulled 230 and chipped S4 pulled 237 to wheels and

STi has 400 punds advantage so even though the S4 torque curve is a bit better, you do the math.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1348180.phtml</a

This was discussed about 2 days ago. Stage 2+ has a slight edge IIRC.

Default Re: Can a Chipped S4 spank a STi?

I am wondering where all of these opinions have come from?
Is there anyone here besides Audi Dudey who has driven a STi?

I have and I believe that an S4 with a a chip is, in fact, faster than an STi. Now, when it comes to braking and cornering the STi is a different beast. But, I dare anyone to say the STi does it in more comfort and panche than an S4.
Take your wife for a ride in an STi then in an S4 and ask her what she likes. I think you will have your answer to which car is better and which car will be in your driveway. To those who don't have wives: Just wait, one day you will...
