Can I use a boost controller to raise my boost a small amount over the 14-15psi set by GIAC reflash?

Default Can I use a boost controller to raise my boost a small amount over the 14-15psi set by GIAC reflash?

I was wondeing if I could safely(read: Not extremely terrible for the car) raise the boost with eith a manual or electronic boost controller. I am stage 1 and have a GIAC flash that hits around 15 psi. Would it be ok for the car or even worth it to raise boost by a small amount, without changing anything else? Also I was think more along the lines of electronic so that I could just raise psi for short periods. What would be a safe psi to boost to? I run 93 octane.

Default no reason to raise boost without increasing fueling and air flow

the car will only run leaner... not good

No but you could STFA for an answer to a question that has been discussed many times over and over.

yeah, if you go MBC only and add a TCD. Stock fueling supports ~17/18psi with a 5bar fpr.

Yes, but not a good idea IMHO.

Default uh, what?

fueling is based on load, which is based on MAF readings, which increase as the boost increases... as such so does the fueling.

Sure, there's a limit to the stock injectors, but they're not maxed out at 15psi.

He won't run lean at 17-18psi.

Default yes, it's fine, but you need a TCD to eliminate throttle cut from overboost

I ran 17-18psi on all stock fueling. Injectors were maxed out, but it was still running safely.

Default What is a TCD? I cant have my ecu show overboost cause of warrenty.

Is adding a 5 bar FPR easy and how much would it hurt gas mileage? With out a Wideband A/f gauge is there a safe way to tell if the car suddenly s running too lean?

Default Looked all over the forum, if you know of a thread that talks about overboasting a GIAC...

ECU that already has raised boost AND adjust fuel timiing pleease send me a link. This is what I want to know. Does GIAC's adjustments allow for more boost safer, or is it no different than stock?

Default there's a SEARCH button. use it.

though if you're incapable of doing that, you probably shouldn't mess with your car.
