Can someone help me with a new s4 2000 windshield?
I neede to replace my windshield. I hear that Audi may have it wrong ie: A4 S4 windshield the same part number when they are different. I would appreciate some advice. My dealer says that the A4 and S4 windshield for 2000 is exactly the same. Are they? Thanks.

Two differences
The A4 windshield has a greenish tint, while the S4 has a greyish tint. Also, I've been told the S4 windshield is supposed to have a small non-tinted section in the center of the top to allow for the auto-dimming mirror sensor.
Otherwise, the fitment of the glass itself is identical.

got mine replaced couple months back and...........
i went with an aftermarket windshield and it has the greenish tint but i like it much better than the audi glass because the aftermarket glass is thicker and stronger i had a guy who did it for me at my home and has been doing audi's for 15 years and he told me the stock glass is weaker......i got the windshield installed for $170 bucks and the glass is great

not at all Nick i was............
driving on the highway a couple days ago and a pretty rock hit my windshield and it made a pretty big noise and i for sure thought i got a crack and the funny thing is i checked my windshield after and it did not even leave a mark.....all good so far

i live in toronto canada i paid 240 canadian about 170 u.s (m)
i got it from the guy who does all the audi dealers here in toronto he was really cool i got his # from one of the mechanics i know from my local dealer when i asked what the dealer wanted they said $750 canadian works out to be about $525 u.s so i decided to call the guy myself and i was surprised when he told me he would do it for $240 canadian and he came to my house and did it in my garage.....just shows you what a rip off the dealers are and the funny thing is the aftermarket glass fits great and its stronger too
