Default Can someone point out ALL timing marks when PISTON #1 is TDC?

I would like to know where everything is suppose to be when PISTON #1 is TDC. I'm talking about flywheel, crankshaft pulley, cam gear pulleys, timing chain gears. Anything else that could help me out would be appreciated!

I'm still not giving up on my motor!

their's an arrow to help you find top dead center where the crank bolt is.

Unforturenately, I don't know the story on the motor. Got the car through the auction, I could tell you that the motor OR tranny has been out because it was missing one bolt for the tranny and you could tell that the bolts have been taken off before.

We checked the spark, air, and fuel... all okay. I have the VAG-COM here, no codes. When you try to start the engine, it cranks over but seems like something is missing when it TRIES to start, like something holding it back from firing. So we yanked the motor out. When the crankshaft pulley is lined up with the line, the camshaft pulleys face each other, the timing gear chain notch lines up, and piston #1 (front of vehicle, passenger side) is down, piston #3 (near firewall, passenger side) is up. That's all i could tell you!

Default i think that you are on the right road actually....sounds correct from what you are

describing, but please take my advice lightly...i am not a mechanic, plus i am not there seeing what's happening...i have just done a timing belt job before....but sounds like eveything is lined up. please keep us posted with the progress and good luck.

Default also...could be a number of other things that are causing it not to turn over....something as easy

as a bad sensor. it's hard to tell from over the internet.
