Default can someone post a log of timing (block 003) during warm idle? - preferably stage3

my mechanic thinks my tune is wicked wacky and the base timing map is causing misfires.

he said the timing spikes to near 30 degrees is not normal.

logs please? comments?

Default also, timing is based on load, which is based on your MAF. If your MAF is bad and getting some weird

readings, it could theoretically cause wacky timing.

Default from what i know, idle torque/rpm is maintained via varying timing.

i dont have logs handy, nor do i know what is "normal" though. ill try to dig through some of my old logs and see.

Default 01.5, K04, custom tuned

i have the hitachi MAF, so the assumption was that its failure would be more unlikely. the graph i posted does have MAF data. the mechanic did not notice anything abnormal.

before i drop any names, i'd like to see some data of what the timing should look like at idle.

my mechanic was also concerned with the high degree of fuel/lamda correction, so he had more reason to doubt the tune:

Default FYI...your car was missing prior to the tune being installed. We discussed this......

and you agreed.

I would start with the basics. If your shop isnt able to figure it out, I would be more then happy to figure out what mechanical issue is causing misfiring.....

Let us know how we can help!

Correct, its mostly timing....as fuel or throttle plate angle would cause large changes in RPM.

Default Also - yes, I've seen large spikes in timing at idle .....

on cars that are misfiring or having idle issues.

Its not "normal" but its what happens in this situation.
