Canadian H7 to HID Conversion Experiences?

Canadian H7 to HID Conversion Experiences?
At first I was considering an eBay kit for this.
However, it looks a fair bit more complicated that this.
What are the main differences between the Valeo halogen and Valeo Xenon light housings? Will the halogen housings melt with Xenons for example? Will the absence of leveler motors blind oncoming traffic if I simply put Xenon bulbs in the H7 low beam sockets?
If it's going to involve 500 - 1000 dollars for new e-code Xenons housings + ballasts + bulbs, etc, etc, there are simply other things I would choose to do to my ride first.
If it's a 150.00 cheap and cheerful kit, then I would consider it.
Finally, did anybody ever discover a way to deal with DRL that does not involve disabling it when using HID?
Thanks for insight & advice.

The Valeo xenon housings produce a different pattern than the halogen's. The cheap xenon kit...
will fit directly into the H7 socket and will not blind oncoming traffic. The housing just needs to be aimed properly. I haven't figured out how to disable the DRL, and don't know of any way to do it, so I just turn on my low beams prior to turning on the car because the low voltage from the DRL's burned out the bulbs from the first kit I tried. I think when these bulbs burn out (2nd set in 1 year) I will spring for the real deal. Good luck. BTW, the cheap kit was worth the temporary gain in lighting.
