Can't Afford S4, Next Best Option?

A4 with K-04, some go for dirt cheap and are rock solid.
U could pick up a 2000 or before for 12k fully modded. Troll the classifides, AW members tend to let their cars go pretty cheap to other enthusiasts.
Not an S4 or a stage III A4, but a rock solid option, and handles as good as either.
Or a fully modded stage III A4 if it comes around.
Good luck, and as others said hold out for what you want. Just be smart about it. I just picked up an "S" coming from an A4, and I must say an 2001 X-Chipped A4 was a fun car.
I'd go A4 because if a turbo goes on that it's Less than $1k (and they don't go that often) The S4 it's more like $5k+ from what I hear.

UrS4 or S6...
you could get a very very nice and well modified UrS4/6 for mid teens. I'm talking the S-car models previous to the B5 (most people here have no clue there is a previous S4/6). They run 2.2l 20v 5cyl Turbo engines. Upper 300hp is not uncommon, and over 400hp is still very realistic. Better fit and finish, seats, and very reliable... pretty good gas milage too
