My car lost it today on the blue route.
Crusing at regular highway speed..i lost throttle and the car
lost speed. when i geared down, the engine geared down with me.
i hit the gas...nothing. pulled over and called audi road
side. the car stalled. after 3 mins, i started the car and it idled at
1000 rpm...hit the gas..nothing and the pedal felt as if it wasnt connected
to the car at all...real loose. car idled rough and stalled...kept starting and wouldnt stay on????

Hmm, sound like the fuel pump is working or else it wouldn't even start....Maybe your TBB popped off? That happened to me once and the symptoms were similar although not as severe.
It sounds like the something in the throttle body might be causing your problem, that's where I would check first.

If you're up that area I would strongly suggest looking at a place up in the Devon area. It's called Don Galbrath. He's an indy that only works on Audi's and Porsches. I drive by there frequently for work and there is always at least one S4 in the lot, yesterday there were 4. Fire this into google maps 40.05001,-75.425214. Here is his website http://www.dgmotoring.com/

Hahaha oh man...So the one thing I say it can't be is what it ends up being? Wonderful. New pumps are readily available and not that expensive. Some places, like VAST, will give you a small refund for your core. If you are planning on going stage 3 in the future I recommend you go ahead and get a high capacity pump.
