Best in front and rear laser field of view.
Best in X-band range
Best in K-band range
Best in Ka-band range
Best in Laser Sensitivity
Tied for worst in false alarms(with Cobra XR-1050, and Escort Passport 8500

Who to believe?
I have read many other radar tests that seem indicate otherwise (V1 always scores well, but not best). Who do you believe? Oh well, I went with the 8500 because I was able to get it for $200. It also scored higher than the V1 for detection in 3 of the reviews I came across. I don't notice an extreme amount of false alarms in auto mode.

ALL Radar Detectors are now obsolete, but read on...
Depending on where you live and drive, they have instant-on radar guns. If they are not on until you reach them, you cant detect it. Its sort of like the scam with lasar detectors..you detect it when it hits you, not as you creap up on it like the old kind anymore.

you can detect instant-on, when they are triggering the cars in front of you,
also, a lot of cops don't even use the instant-on when they are hiding because they can't react fast enough....

The trick is knowing how to drive with the equipment you have and what you are up against
With instant on and laser unless you have a rabbit to follow to take the hit and set off your detector you are a sitting duck. I like to do my high speed runs with a car up ahead or with one of my buddies running ahead with a Nextel radio to alert of any smokies, then 150 mph comes on fast!
