car has absolutely no coolant, can i still drive it 10 minutes at a time?

Default an empty coolant resevoir is one hint =p

you can look for signs of dry pinkish stains... or do a coolant pressure test.
oh, and if you do add water make sure the weather is not below freezing temps, thats a mess you dont wanna get into...

Default another cool "high tech" way is...

to put a dye on the coolant or just water in this case. what this dye does is makes the coolant liquid very bright under UV light or black light( wall mart cheap one) so as soon as you look under the hood will jump write at you.
you can by the dye at napa auto store is 2 bucks.
i bet it is the aux pump right under your intake manifoild. happend to me.

Default i have the same prob, and it is the aux pump, if u take off the covers and look

closely with a flashlight u can see it.
