I have a Giac X right now i've noticed that if i'm ever in first or second gear at wide open throttle and I let off the throttle quickly (not shifting) the whole car will shoot forward (duh...physics) and makes a clunk noise. I'm on stock suspension and don't have a DTS or snub mount. Is this common to hear when you let off the gas and shift the weight of the car forward to hear a clunking sound?

...or the propeller shaft doing the same thing.

Engine mounts broken (that would not be uncommon) could be cuasing something to hit.
I'd follow the driveline with a flashlight and look for marks. Then check the motor mounts.

mine got wet and went bad. I had the same symptoms- a big thud when i let off the gas. Its located on the drivers side of the transmission-not tough to swap out. You may want to take a look at that as well. good luck.
