my fan was hitting my bi-pipe after a water-pump replacement . . . oh, you said the back of engine.

Its inside your engine near the front top under the poweer steering pump. When it fails you will hear a sound like marbles rattling inside a tin can. The sound will vary with RPM. You will also notice your engine temp will run higher than normal and get hotter faster than normal. Don't drive the car in this condition as a failed waterpump bearing can take out your timing belt which it is attached to and damage your engine. I just had one fail two weeks ago. If you are near needing a timing belt install, you can do both jobs at the same time.

He thinks since the compression is fine. and its more a loud clicking then marbles. in a tin can, It could also be a lifter, the car runs fine, and when i rev it, the sound is gone for a split second then its back...im doing my clutch and flywheel, so i guess a lil more into her and we'll have it figured out.! Will post more as i try and figure things out.! Thanks to everyone for your support!
