Yeah, the passenger side of the cowl has to come off. 3 quarter turn plastic screws.

Default Well I did it.........didnt even need the radio code!

Got the battery out without taking off the second plastic piece (the one with the three plastic screws up near the windsheild wipers) I sacraficed two plastic guide/retaining clips in the process; no big deal since they just hold another piece of plastic anyway.

The hard part was figuring out how to get that bolt undone for the battery retaining clip. I didnt have a deep socket wrench, but i figured out if you sneak the socket wrench in near the AC lines you can actually line it up and use it under the AC lines.

Did the swap car started right up. The nav system said I selected my language, (never said that before) buttoned everything up, and I didnt even need a radio code. Funny thing is when I did a seat swap in my 02 Jetta and disconnected the battery I didnt need the code either. I think I either got lucky or the radio holds off on the code if you get juice to it with in an hour.

Default I've noticed the same thing with other cars...

if you're quick, the radio code isn't necessary...but if you disconnect the power for more than a short period of time, it'll prompt you for the codes.

Not sure if Audis are the same way...never needed to disconnect my battery.

Default Why wouldn't it be covered? Isn't coverage for all (m)

maintenance in the first 3 or 4 years depending on model year? My battery died and Audi replaced it no cost to me.

Default Could also be the ground wire. If the car...

does start up and the voltometer goes crazy then it might be the ground. This just happened to me. Sometimes the car would star, sometimes it wouldn't.
