Default Car occassionally takes longer to start than usual,

even when its not cold out. Is my starter going? If so how much does it cost to replace or more importantly can it be done without a major deal.

You mean it cranks more before starting?

Could be the battery. My wife's Passat was like that until the battery finally let go.

Default Low on spark plug fluid? Filter bearings correctly aligned?

Seriously... we need more descriptive info to offer any useful advice.

Default Basically

When it happens the starter will turn for 2 seconds or so before the engine will catch. The time it takes varies and it doesn't happen all the time but it is becoming more frequent.

Mine takes more than 2 seconds all the time. Is the cranking speed slower than normal?

Default Maybe i'm off on the time

But you can easily tell when hearing it crank that its taking longer than normal. Normally it used to start up right away, with almost no delay. The more I think about it, it seems like the time is longer than two seconds.

Default Longer cranking time is probably more

mixture spark related more then cranking related.

If you turn it on let it sit a second or so before cranking does it help?

Default How about putting the key in the on position, waiting for the "OK" and then starting it.

Try that. Also have you been using different gasoline? When was the last time you changed the spark plugs? If at all? Any codes
