Pedal pressure increases a little, but it's still a super smooth and drivable setup.

The issue you're recalling was the self-adjusting mechanism in the B5S4 clutch that was maxing out the self-adjuster during shipping. If this wasn't spotted and corrected during the install, this is where the problems arose.
We've run Spec stuff exclusively in all our shop builds here and have to date never had a clutch failure in any of our track or street cars.

I was not a fan of how harsh the engagement was.
The south bend feramic clutch I have is very similar to stock and the engagement is way smoother, just no comparison. Unfortunately, it's only rated to 600ft lbs and uses the RS4 PP. That's why I'm looking for alternatives if it doesn't hold.

it's a feramic clutch. Said he paid $950 for the clutch and 600 for the flywheel? Does this sound right?
