Man, I'm gonna have to sell the kids into slavery if I continue like this. This stuff ain't cheap... With a non-vented hood, my out of pocket would be $300. With the vented one, it would be closer to $600. Hmmm, how to sell this one to the wife?... We're supposed to be saving money for the new-coming baby and I still need to take the kids on a ski trip this year. I guess if they're sold into slavery that wouldn't be an issue anymore. I can just hear the conversation:

Mrs. Santorin: Honey, where are the kids?
Me: Uh, um, on their way to Gabon...
The Mrs.reaching for rolling pin) WTF??!??
Me: But honey, look how pretty this hood looks on my car!

Yeah, so anyway, I gotta think about this...

BTW, for those easily offended or anyone who don't get sick humor, THIS IS A JOKE! I love my kids and would never ever think of selling them into slavery even for a CF hood! I would destroy/maim anyone who would even look at them the wrong way! Hey I'm a good dad! I'm taking them skiing!

Well I'm not an Audi driver (someday!), but I've heard that CF hoods can be treacherous in case of front-end hits. It's my understanding that they won't crumple like stock hoods (steel/aluminum).
Rather, they'll get pushed backwards into the cockpit like some surfboard...

I've heard this from quite a few people, owning different brands of cars. What's the contention here?
