Carbon fiber trim swap - removed 4 of the 6 clips, but now I am stuck!

For the long front dash trim piece, I started on the passenger side and removed the first 4 clips, but, the two furthest to the left (the ones closest to the driver seat) I cannot seem to get hold of. Any tricks to getting these last 2 clips off - without removing the entire center console? Thx...

So I'm going to be giving this method a try when I finally get around to doing that front trim piece.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2798812.phtml

and then quickly yanking the string which pulls the trim free from the tab.
you do run the risk of breaking the tab if you have the aluminum trim.

it doesn't seem to matter if you take the center console out or not, either way you can't reach the clip behind the hazard button, (I have done it both ways). So, what you will want to do is go buy a tool(s) that will allow you to pry it straight out. Ideally something wider than the spring clip is. that way there is less of a risk of breaking something. Just go slowly and pry from the top and bottom working the post out of the clip. You will lose the clip behind there and won't use it for your new trim, thats fine you don't need it at all.
For the one closest to the steering wheel you need to remove the lower dash under the column, (see the write ups). Once off, its a little precarious but you can get it. Just get on your back and use a light reach up between the framework. Getting it off is much harder than putting it back on as you can just reach behind it squeeze the clip on. I have a "pick" set of tools that works great for this stuff. Its a set of 4 craftsmen found in the swrew driver section as Sears.
BTW, get the one by the column first so when you pry the trim off the last one behind the hazard the whole piece will come out.
Hope that helped

one on the left from underneath. As for the other one, see the link in my sig for the easiest way to get it.

I used some line from my weed wacker, wrapped it around the trim close to the tab, and pull like hell... eventually the tabs released, but, the wood grain trim did not survive. Oh well, it came off and the carbon fiber piece is on and looks awesome! Car is much lighter and faster now!
