Default Cars back from the dealership, but not fixed, need some help... high gear slipping?

Background: Car went into the dealership to have front end work done due to an unfortunate run in with a tree on an icy morning. They found an issue with the water pump while searching for damage... so they pulled the engine and replaced it.

Problem: I got the car back and drove it around last night...
I would be driving around 2 - 2.5k RPM in 4th gear. Then push the gas to quickly accelerate, and the engine would just rev up without any acceleration on the car (like the car was in neutral). Id back off... and then the RPMs would drop back, and upon slower acceleration the car would push. Overall, the car works great, accelerates quickly through lower gears, etc. But when pushing it with 4th, 5th, and 6th, there some slipping...

Amateur diagnosis: clutch problem? Lower gears have no issues, no matter how briskly I accelerate... transmission issue? ... But honestly I have no idea and I'm just curious if anyone out there has an insight because this is obviously something the dealership messed up and I don't want to go in there blindly.

a slipping clutch would usually slip easily in low gears

Put it in 5th gear going about 40MPH, and press the gas all the way, does it slip?

I thought it was the other way around b/c of the diff in tranny speed and engine speed.

Default Put it in 4th gear at stop, then let the clutch out...

if the car doesn't stall and moves forward, that means your clutch is slipping.

You are correct. Higher gear = more load, therefore it is easier to notice a slipping clutch.
