CD player from 800allaudi.com and low and behold, the only type of connection I can find in the compartment in the trunk is a 25 pin (parrallel port) connection and the one on the back of the CD player is a round din type... anyone else have this situation? Or am I just not digging hard enought back there?
TIA

Look somewhat behind the 25 pin adapter and you should see another adapter with the foam over it. It is the round CD changer connection.
It's usually easier to see if you follow the directions in the tech section and take the cd changer cage/harness thing out.

The connector is behind the black metal plate. Worth taking that out to fit CD player then connect everything. If the CDC is not an OEM Audi part you need an adapter even though the connectors fit. Made that mistake with the Panasonic I got from Stratmosphere. Was admiring my finished handiwork when I realized there was an adapter kit in the box. Figured it must be there for a reason and the CDC did not work till I took everything apart again and fitted it!
