Default CEL and 17 DTCs (all short to ground or no signal), but car runs fine (for now) -

After clearing the DTCs, CEL and DTCs came on immediately after startup. Should I assume there is a major short somewhere? There are no visible shorts in the engine compartment. Battery is fine. I'll try swapping the ECU. I'll jack the car in the morning and look at the O2 sensors and wires. What else should I look for? Thanks.

Default Damn, Peter - what did you do?

Is this the first time you had this happen?

Default Check ground terminal connections on firewall, and that ECU connectors are fully seated.

What were you doing prior to all these DTCs?

I've seen bad fuel pump relays set those faults.

Default grounds are fine; ECU connectors fully seated; chip in its socket; no blown fuses - I'm

going under the car now. Then I'll check relays.

Seen that with a cut wire, or a blown fuse.

Default Update: same codes - checked O2 sensors, all ground connections all fuses, put stock ECU in - will

check relays when I get home from work this evening.

Any kind of VAG readiness check I should be doing?
