However, the DTC will still be in the ECU.
Once you reconnect the MAF, the fault will be come "intermittent" meaning that it is no longer occurring. After some number of starts and some miles driven, the CEL will go off, but the fault code will remain in the ECU until it is cleared by the dealer scan tool or VAG-COM.
