Okay, I'm changing the driver's side VC gasket. I have everything disassebmled and the bolts (8) out of the valve cover.
The problem I'm having is that I can't seem to get the VC to break loose. I'm looking for any helpful hints in breaking the VC loose.
P.S. I have checked and I all the bolts are removed.
TIA!

on the try to gently get a scraper or small scredriver in to where you can pry. It will "pop" once it lets go. If possible try to just pull at the top of the cover towards the fender with your hands as best as you can. It just needs some persuasion.
oh and if you try to pull I suggest you thread a few bolts back in a little bit so that the initial pop doesnt cause you to fall backwards.

Pulled and pulled and I couldn't get it. Took off the oil cap, oil cap sleeve and then lightly tapped the VC with a dead blow hammer a few times.
That popped the top side free. Worked the VC a few times and the other side popped free. Off she came.
For those that haven't done this yet. It's a pain on an S4. Way too much crap packed in there!!
Thanks mig!!
