Default Cheap fix for access. belt tensioner roller

I recently did my tb and noticed the bearing sounded pretty bad in the accessory belt tensioner. All I needed was the roller, not the whole assy. for $80. I bought a replacement bearing for $11 and ground off the lip holding the bearing in on the frontside. Installed the new bearing and I'm good to go. If the pulley would happen to move on the bearing, it will be to the rear and it will make some noise rubbing on the arm. I expect no problems and have had none in several thousand miles. Sure beats $80.

Default for $69 difference, I think I'd still use a new part

TB components aren't something to be cheap about in my opinion.

Kudos to you though.

Agreed. And only $64 from PureMS. :-)

Why spent the extra money when the only thing that needs replacing is the iffy bearing!

64 buck piece of mind or gamble on some bent valves...you decided?

Default he said accessory belt, not timing belt

No bent valves, but I wouldn't want to risk getting stranded either way. Just replacing the bearing could be OK, but I'd have to see it for myself.
