Default Check Engine Light-- new owner

I just bought a 2000 S4 with Alcantar interior. The car is awesome! However, the check engine light comes on. I went to my local shop and the diagnostics reported these problems; P1171- throttle angle sensor impusible; P1137 Bank 1 too rich; P1139 Bank 2 too rich. I heard the it is not uncommon for the check engine light to come in S4's.

Please Advise.

Thanks.

Default Sounds like you may need a new MAF, perhaps.

Try searching the archives for those DTC's. I had to replace my MAF sensor when I had both banks reading rich. Otherwise it means BOTH O2 sensors are shot...which is unlikely.

Is the car stock or what? Different downpipes can cause these types of codes.

MAF "lying" usually makes mix too lean. I guess it can overstate air, too, but sounds rare.
