Chipping and turbos

Do the later model year S4s(2001.5) have the same turbo failure rate after chipping as the earlier model years?
I recently purchased a 2001.5 S4 with 46k on the clock and would like to chip it, but after reading several turbo failure posts am concerned with my turbos failing. What is the general consensus?

I am stock so i have no first hand experience except having read every post on this board for 3years straight. Here goes the typical answer:
If you do not chip your turbos may blow eventually. If you do chip, your turbos will blow eventually. Maybe sooner, maybe in same time they would have. If you chip, expect them to blow, this way you won't be dissapointed, but excited about stage 3 (save up for this).
Most of that didn't answer your question, from what I've seen, the changes that audi made to the 01.5's left these cars with fewer causes of boost leaks and possibly fewer cases of blown turbos.

They may last forever, but chances are that you will accelerate their death with a chip. Best to be prepared for the possibilities.

I know it's hard to hear, but the turbos can go at any time, without warning, chipped or not - chipped though, you'll have no guarantee of warranty work, though some people have swapped in the stock ECU and the dealer was non the wiser. This, however, will probably not work, as dealers are getting very tight with the turbo issue...
