I need help to find this because I dont really have time to take the whole front end off if it really is something simple.
Driving home in the rain two days ago and I hear a chirping, metal rubbing type noise,in the front drivers side right around the cam sprocket.
The noise goes at the same frequency rate of the pedal. I thought maybe it was the fan assembly but the belt looks fine. What could that noise possibly be?

the rain cause this since I had my bottom black cover off?
And if this was a waterpump, the noise would have still persisted with the spraying of wd40,Right?

I have the same noise, it doesn not sound lethal, but annoying. It is a light chirping sound like a small diesel engine or something, you know how you can hear diesel engines chirping, its like that but lighter.
The previous owner said he had the timing belt done. A good mechanic told me it sounded like a tensioner or something, its probably the acc tensioner.
I am going to get my Timing beld done soon, just in case.
