Default Clear corner problem

I cant get the god damn amber insert on the left headlight to come out, i kind of chipped at it with a screw driver and both the top and bottom tabs are broken but i just cant find anything that will grasp hold of it well enough to get it loose...do you guys have ANY ideas? Thanks.

Default The tech article says to use a wire cutter to break it up.

I was too chicken to do this mod, so I did the euro housings instead.

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext5.shtml</a

Default use a flathead screwdriver to force it forward; it takes A LOT of patience...

... once removed, you can break it up w/ a wire cutter.

Default Re: Clear corner problem

Try inserting something narrow thru the hole you drilled to eat away the tab and push from that end. Just be careful...if it lets go abruptly, you will scratch the housing.

It is likely you didn't get all the tab removed and there is a small piece that is holding the insert in.

Alternatly, if you can reach the insert thru the bulb opening you can press a flat screwdriver against the edge of the insert and loosen it. Again be careful not to scratch the housing.

Good luck...

Default Most of the responses so far are on themoney - but again, be very careful - the edges of the plastic

on the insert will scratch the silver reflective surface very easily. The silver reflective coat is very soft and is easily damaged. Unfortunately, every flaw in that surface is highly visible when you are done.

I tried to be careful with mine, but was so bummed at the end result that I bought the Euro housings and replaced the originals.
