Climate control
I have a heater on an S4 which isn't working properly. It will alternatively blow heat or nothing. The temperature cannot be controlled. On automatic, the fan will stay on high long after the interior is roasting. Manually I can adjust the fan though.
Anyone experience this problem before? What is the usual cause and what is involved in fixing it?

Yes, it blows heat constantly.
It could easily be the thermostat. When the system is cold it will keep the fan low. As it warms up the fan will increase. But it will never decrease again as you would expect once the car warms up.
Fails in both manual and automatic mode.
