n/m, just saw your post below about the ac compressor turning on.

system might need to be recharged...the question is, why did it drain?

car is old how long should the charge last?

my B5 is one of the oldest out there.

so probably just a leak someplace you think? wouldn't that generate a code? loss of pressure of something like that?

It would only generate a code if there was an exisiting sensor in place...

For the most part, the use of sensors in our cars predominantly supports other systems. Loss of pressure in the AC system has no ill effect on how the car runs.

You are out of R134. I just took mine in for a warranty fix

They recharged it and added dye. BTW you need to USE your air at least once a month regardless of outside temp. The oil in the refrg. lubes the seals of the compressor and keeps them sealing.
