I just picked up a 2000 S4 with a 6 speed MT about 2 weeks ago. The car only has 27,4xx miles on it and I am the second owner. Anyways every once in a while when I start the car from a dead stop in first its seems like the clutch makes a weird groaning sound, which last about two seconds. It happens maybe once out of every 10 to 15 starts. The clutch pedal feels fine and nothing appears wrong with the car except for the noise it makes. Any ideas as to what might be wrong? Thanks.

If it makes you feel any better mine does the same thing every now and then. Its mostly when I take turns from a start or when i am backing out of my driveway so I am thinking it is just a normal quattro groan. Hope this helps,
