Driving home tonight in the freezing Iowa weather - car stalls at a 4-way and after starting back up cannot accelerate at all - limped home at about 5 mph and ran vagcom. I understand the codes, but don't know what might have caused them - please comment/give me your thoughts on what it could be ..

I'm going to pull the ECU right now and make sure it tight and well seated.

I used a gas station that I normally wouldn't as a last resort? Fuel filter blocked?

don't think its fuel...did you get a CEL? I'm thinking more likely coilpack?

17973 Throttle Actuator - lower stop not reached - searched the archives and found a few people with similar, but no-one really seemed to have a fix for it

yeah sorry dont know what to tell you there...hopefully you've got a good indy shop nearby?
