Default Codes??

I have a 2001 S4, MIL came on and I pulled 2 codes a p1113 and a p1131. I have the bently manual and it doesn't show that these are for the S4, it shows them to be for a 2000 2.8L 02 heater circuit bank 1 and bank2. Help Please!!!

It sounds like the preheaters for the o2 sensors are done for. The second set of 02 sensors has a small electrical preheater to get them up to operating temps quickly. Once these burn out the sensors give bad readings until the exhaust system has a chance to warm up (2 minutes or so).

The 2.7 is based off of the venerable 2.8 so the engineers might have used some of the same codes in ECU program.

Anyway, that's my best guess.

For future reference you can use this site to search for the VAG DTC with
the OBDII code: http://dtcsearch.planetvag.com

Here's the two you posted.

17539 P1131 Bank2-Sensor1 Internal Rsistance too High VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Bentley, Lamborgini, Bugatti

17521 P1113 Bank1-Sensor1 Internal Resistance too High VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Bentley, Lamborgini, Bugatti

Ross-Tech has plenty information on fixes etc: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

Hope that helps

Those would be your front O2 sensors, which makes sense, as they usually go in pairs. Here is a link to them:
