Since i had to wait for the parts(valves, seals, etc) to arrive i got my head out of the machine shop and took it to the Coating shop.
Again this was fairly cheap so i dicede to do it, the coating is a thermal barrier. It was applied on the intake and exhaust runners and combustion chamber.
The idea is to keep heat away from the head, so the intake runnners will be cooler when gas is sprayed on and exhaust should flow better.
Also since the chamber is also coated more head will flow out. So i hope for better timing, and maybe better boost response.
The head still needs to be machined, valve seats need to be cut.
I didn't do the valves because i didn't have all valves at the time it went to get done and my i dont want to wait more, it would put at least 2 weeks behind.
here are the picks:

does it take a person that is mechanically inclined to do a engine pull and engine break down, or some on who has mechanic background. i am planning on doing my engine pull when i go stage 3 and wanted to beef up the internals (titanium valves and springs, pistons, rods. maybe a port and polish job done by shop) but as far as tare down and assembly is that a diy or harder that it looks. i did piggy mod and most other mods on my own. just can't justify the expense of stage 3 + beef up internals + install.
thanks

Did a local shop do the coating for you or did you have to mail them over to swaintech?
I will be sending them some stuff soon enough

organized.
Engine rebuild, not the same.
You need to know what you are looking for to find problems and how to fix it.
Minor stuff is alot more important, while forgetting to put a plastic cover back on while putting the engine back in the car. Forgetting anything rebuilding the engine can be very bad.
If you have some help arround you, do all the search you can. You should be fine
AND take lots of pics.
good luck
