compare your experience B5 vs B8
Ok.. I would like some drivers feedback ..I once owned a 2001 B5 S4 6MT(RIP) will always be remembered; had a stage 1 setup with GIAC chip; Borla Catback and H&R Coilover but have yet to drive the B8 S4.. was wondering the difference in feel and performance between a modded B5 to around the same hp/tq how significant is the performance between the turbocharge vs the supercharge engine; if anyone can share their driving experience? Also, for simply discussion sake, has anyone kept track of total cost of modds.. curious since there are soooo many different combos when modding your S4 these days if anyone actually keep track of their investment. It is a carbug that never goes away. Me... I purchase my S4 in 2003 with 18,000 miles... did some homework.. got AWE to chip it for 600 + catback 950.00 + coilover 1200 + 250 for a set of bailey divrtrs and a set of 19inch OZ with Yokmas for 2250 in a span of 6months after ownership drop 5250...lol..; Just curious about everyones project and imput.. feel free to share if you care to. Thank you

I valet and I own a B5 s4 as well. I have driven the B8 S4 on multiple occasions and I love it. The bucket seats and interior as a whole is breathtaking. The car is very responsive and it also has some nice low end power. Additionally you don't realize all of the suttle details until you're up close. Its really a great car. The only drawback for me is that I feel as if the steering Is a bit loose... Not a big deal really but I prefer a tighter feel. Just my .02.

I've driven the B8 pretty hard and make a few runs with one in my B5. I also own a B7. The B8 is a great car, but its the least Audi feeling Audi that I have driven. It feels more like a Lexus or Infinity to me, light steering, light car feel, softer ride. I prefer the feel of my B7 to the B5 and B8, but it is hard to argue with the numbers of the B8. On the highway, the B8 is a strong car, with my older stage 3 tune, I walk away pretty easily from the B8, but its still a fast car. I'm positive I'd get eaten alive in the B7, which is slow. But all these are opinions, go drive one.

Went to test drive a B8 this week, I've been driving a B5 since 03 (purchased at 48,000 miles now over 118,000). The first major diffrence that i noticed, was the amount of technology that now allows the driver to fine tune the performance of the car. In name the drive assist package with the sports rear diff. Had the p-zero 255/35R19 tire package.
On the test drive had the throttle responce cranked all the was up. With the rear diff in sports mode(could put full power to rear outside wheel when cornering). The B8 had torque all over the rpm range no lag what so ever compared to the b5, was considerable faster. We went on an extremly curvy road. Could feel the rear diff pushing all the power to the outside wheel, could be alot of fun once you get comfortable with the car. Going back to the dealer we hooped on the highway had an excellent on ramp to open it up. This car is an extreme sleeper.. I could barely hear the engine or exhaust with the windows down(was at 5200rmp 4th gear at top of the ramp) compared to the spooling of the turbos and borla cat back on my B5.
On the ride home i decide to take some of my fav. "scenic roads" and put my B5 through its paces. The B5 has much greater road feel in the steering wheel as well as feeling the engine in the petals and gearshifter. The B8 braking system is a huge upgrade ( b5 all rotors and pads replaced in last 2000 miles).
All said, I woundn't be surprised if a B8 was in my garage in a week or two.

I liked the B8 S4 enough that I sold my trusty B5 S4 to buy this car.
