Default its whp is almost identical to "actual" whp for many types of cars.

also, it has a much larger range of loads it can subject to the car.

the higher the load, the longer the run.

the longer the run, the more accurate the readings, because there are less inertial components.

Default if the settings for each dyno regardless of manf were able to be standardized(just like dragging But

with perfect reaction times for every car, there woudl be no more issues of "this dyno readfs HIGH" and this dyno reads LOW

would stop alot of arguments around the world, but then hey it would make things boring, but, im more into factual basis.

and trying to get everyone form JUST the us to get on the same dyno is a rediculous thing to ask...

or we could all drive tothe center of the us and everyone dyno there cars at one dyno......

see standardizing would help so much... cuz no ones gonna drive to middle of us just so everyone gets the same dyno numbers...

the one variable that cannot be changed is temperature and humidity, UNLESS its a temperature controlled dyno room

BIG BUX!!

Default each car acts totally differently on every dyno.

you'd have to build a database PER CAR for every year a new model comes out.

Default just as they act different on the asphalt is that what your saying?

there has got to be a way to standardize a dyno.

i know the maha can simulate race tracks etc..

Default There is no dyno in the world that acts like asphalt

except for asphalt.

like you said, some dynos are more consistent that others (esp AWD ones) across different cars. mustangs and mahas are near the top.

Default But we were talking about WHP from the start so wouldn't drag already be accounted for.

If both cars dyno'd 300 WHP, then drag and drivetrain loss is not an issue. The only time that would be an issue is if we were talking about 300 CHP for each car. No?

Default the problem is you are thinking that "WHP" means something

it doesn't. it can mean anything. its like using the term "mouthful" instead of "gallons".
