I am considering buying a T-box Ecu w/ an APR chip on it. Apparently the seller is telling me that the ecu is having problems. He says that the ecu is actually lifting off the board and may need to be resoldered. I will have the option to buy just the chip or both, is this an ECU i should stay away from? Or try to buy both and have it repaired?

then I am sure the possibility of a shortout exists .. I once installed a memory chip into a computer, thinking it was all the way it, but it wasn't. I took out the chip and found the motherboard no longer posted (booted properly, essentially) properly. So I would be wary of it.
