Why would you want to? It understeers enough already!

Quattro has natural understeer. Rear sway bar neutralizes it, front makes it worse.

Default Try the Autotech 32mm hollow front bar. Fits perfect.

It is only about 30% stiffer. And you can use the stock rubber bushing. You will need to use a 22mm rear bar with stock or most spring sets to still be close to neutral. If you want to use the Vortrag S4 spring setup you will need it especially if you want to use even a 19mm rear bar.

Currently I am trying out the Vortrag/Hypercoil S4 springs, custom Konis, 32 front and 19mm rear bars. Just got them on this week. So far I like it a lot but haven't had much a chance to drive it real hard yet. Really want it set up for street and an occasional autocross. Turn in is greatly improved, cornering is much flatter and you can fling the rear out slightly and recover with the gas easily. Yet ride is firmer but not harsh at all. Height is 25 3/8" front and 25 1/4 rear, not too low.

so far so good... I'm planning a review in my registry after more time and an autocross.

Just FYI.

Default David, is this 30% stiffer than the current solid 29mm bar? (m)

And, is this a vendor claim or is there proof? Thanks. :-)

Default Yes, best I can figure...

From the info I gather the 32mm hollow is equivalent to a 31mm solid bar.

All other dimensions being the same the difference is measured in "relative rates" which is diameter to the 4th power.

So stock = 29mm or 1.14" or 1.69 relative rate
31mm or 1.22" or 2.21 relative rate

so 2.21/1.69 = 1.307 or 30.7% higher relative rate

Not a big increase but enough to notice.

Heres the links to where I got the formulas.

Default This is good stuff. But, how did you derive that 32hollow = 31solid? (m)

Do you know the wall thickness of the 32mm Autotech bar?
