Control Arms + Extended Warranty...

My warranty considers control arms a warrantied item until 50,000mi. After that point they somehow switch to being called a wear & tear item...how can a part switch from being warrantied to being W&T?
I didn't think that control arms are a consumable like fluids, light bulbs, cables, break pads, and maybe hoses...
Am I missing something?

Don't expect much from the extended warranty. Not to say that it's worthless, but it's not nearly as good as the original.

And even if you are 2002 you are dangerously close to the end of the factory warranty

I guess if the control arm broke because it was so loose that it was banging the front end apart they would have to replace it, but by that point a bunch of other things in the front end would be loose too.

I brought up stress fractures, which exist in almost any metal component to some extent, they didn't buy it because my dealer messed up when speaking with the extended warranty company. Anybody have any idea how I could get them to pay for this??
