Default Control Arms need to be ordered...

I assume it would be most wise to just replace all control arm parts while I'm in there. So, am I correct in thinking that all I need then is the Control arms kit from ECS for $429? I asked them but they reply to question 2-3 weeks after they are asked, and I need to get this fixed now. Thanks.

Default Supposedly the Shokan kit is more complete and cost less. Also the ECS

kit is more than you stated cuz they have to replace to of the A4 arms with S4 ones which drives the price up. But the Shokan kit already has the S4 arms in it. But maybe someone here can confirm this.

Default Yes, the Shokan kit has the Arms in it. I got my kit from Avalon..

(big bulk order with the tracksports)

It appears the Shokan kit, is the most complete, and at a bargain as well. yuo WILL need to watch for which year you are, for the 2000 models with Aluminum control arms. 2 of the lower arms (one each side) are different in their connections.

Default To be honest, not sure, it has to do with the Vin/build date..

Shokan should have a package with aluminum uprights, and for one with the steel.

Best bet would be to call them.

Default Steel upright or aluminum? That's how you tell the difference.

Having aluminum only changes 2 arms. All the others are the same.

The B5 kit is the same for the A4/S4 except for aluminum vs. steel difference.

Default I think this kit is the best deal I've seen so far.

Alternatively, you can call Pap-parts at 1-800-944-2964 and ask for Scooter.

Default yea, because the aluminum has a steel sleeve where the taper pin of the balljoint attaches

I can only imagine how much of a pain separating the balljoints from aluminum uprights is. I'll bet the sleeve breaks loose from the upright and comes out with the ball joint. Just a guess since I have steel uprights. With mine, I loosened the balljoint nuts and hit the upright with a hammer.. they popped right out after a few good hits
